‘God is’ a very present help in time of need: -

Psalm 46v1-3

God is our refuge and strength,

A very present help in trouble (an ever-present help in time of need).

2 Therefore we will not fear,

Even though the earth be removed,

And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

3 Though its waters roar and be troubled,

Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah

The above scriptures describe a very disconcerting set of circumstances. Our

present world depicts some most alarming and very challenging situations around us.

There too are times and seasons in our lives when we feel that we are close to

breaking point.

Our mindset swirls around thoughts such as – “This is about as much

as I can take – This is too much for me – I’m sinking and there seems to be no way

out!”

It is in times and seasons such as these that God wants us to know that He is there.

God does not run out on us in our time of need! God is not even put off by a mess

we have self-created! He is a very present help in times of trouble and need.

If anything, God is closer to us in these times than He is in the good times. It is in the

times of need that we need Him the most. God does not run away from trouble; He is

s friend that sticks closer than a brother (Proverbs 18v24). This word ‘sticks’ in this

scripture means ‘One who is fastened, immovably affixed, permanently attached,

never leaving, or fused together with.’

That about describes God’s stance or position in our times of great need – ‘He is’ a

very present help and He is willing and quick to hear and respond to our every plight.

Hebrews 13v5 – “He will ‘never’ leave you or forsake you!”

Psalm 46v1-2

God is our refuge and strength,

A very present help in trouble (an ever-present help in time of need).

2 Therefore we will not fear…

Reach out to Him today – You will find Him both willing and wanting.
